Hey.
I'm Robert Westermann, an aspiring journalist at the University of Southern California. I've been working for student publications on campus for over two-and-a-half years as a photojournalist and sports reporter. I was the LA Clippers beat reporter for Talk of Troy, a multimedia sports group, and worked as one of two assistant editors last school year. For the Daily Trojan, I've covered sports from football to golf and have covered four football games as a photojournalist.
I've also hosted and produced three podcasts: Fourth & Goal, Talk & Toss, and The Progress Principle. These podcasts focus on a variety of topics, from sports to personal development.
In the broadcasting world, I spent the summer of 2024 as an intern at WTVR CBS 6 in Richmond, Virginia, where I gained my first major experience as a news reporter. There, I learned the ins and outs of the media industry and now understand what it takes to be a journalist in the digital age.
Currently, I'm working in Orlando, Florida, as a news intern at WESH 2 News, exploring how each team works within the newsroom.
